Soo....Real Life Research Action Examples

Wow- this was an assignment filled with information but man- it was big! So- first thing I learned was that I thought I knew what I wanted to do for my action research blog but I think I may have too many pots in the kettle interest wise.  I read Danas  CART (Common Action Research Topics) and they did seem to tap into some of my interest but HOW do I narrow it down??? Grrr...so I've decided to make a list of things I am CERTAIN i want to address based on the CART:
1. Curriculum Development (I see a lot of alignment issues there)
2. Staff Development (teachers without buy in or without passion for information)
3.  School Performance (Because i don't see how you can do curriculum development without affecting the curriculum)

okay- this was my break between parts of the assignment- now back to work!!!

Using Blogs...my oh my....

I'm a teacher...I'm busy so why should I blog?  Well blogging is just a log of your thoughts and reflections on your actions and frankly that takes some work.  However, it seems that to be truly available to become the best teacher principal or just over all person one must reflect on their decisions- the good, bad and the indifferent.  Blogging is also a for of self analyzation it makes you realize the mistakes you've made or the moments of brilliance that you don't want to forget so that you can repeat them later.
This is great as a teacher but as a leader it almost more effective because now your staff can see their progress or decline through your eyes. It should allow for more vertical integration and implementation of ideals which will lead your staff in the the same direction.  A blog shouldn't just be a post of articles it should be a a true exchange of thoughts and ideals in the staff that allows you to develop a shared philosophy and goal that you are all trying to meet. A blog an also be a great way for the staff to bring issues to the forefront without feeling attacked or so that it allows for clarification.
